Emotet is disrupted, but the malware it installed lives on

Emotet was a widespread and evolving malware platform—originating as a banking trojan and later operating as malware-as-a-service—that infected an estimated over one million Windows systems, stole credentials, spread via spam and email thread hijacking, and acted as a dropper enabling ransomware and other malicious payloads against individuals, businesses, government, and healthcare organizations.
