Spamhaus Botnet Threat Report 2017

Spamhaus' 2017 analysis of botnet controllers (SBL/BCL) shows a large-scale and growing botnet problem: C&C listings rose by ~32%, BCL (fraudulent sign-ups) listings increased by over 40% with roughly 600–700 BCL entries per month, IoT botnet controllers more than doubled (393 → 943), and cloud-provider abuse and compromised hosts were prominent; the report also provides geographic/ISP hosting trends and a ranked list of the top malware families associated with C&Cs.
