Hack3d 2023 is a retrospective analysis of Web3 security incidents in 2023, reporting $1.84 billion lost across 751 hacks, scams, and exploits. The report highlights that private key compromises — just 6.3% of incidents — caused nearly half the financial losses, cross-chain breaches accounted for $799M from 35 incidents, and that losses were concentrated in a small number of very costly incidents, with Q3 and November being particularly severe.
