Hacktivism: Part Two

This report reviews several hacktivist and Web3-related incidents: the Belarusian Cyber-Partisans’ breach of the national passport database and subsequent NFT doxxing/fundraising campaign; Anonymous’ reported disruptive operations and alleged financial incentives against Russian forces; a high-profile compromise of Prime Minister Modi’s Twitter account used to post Bitcoin-related claims; and the Cashio protocol exploit that resulted in roughly $52M in losses. It contextualizes these events within evolving legal responses and forecasts increased politically motivated hacktivism leveraging Web3 mechanisms.
