Flare Incident Analysis

CertiK's report documents a November 13, 2022 exit-scam against the Flare token on BSC in which the deployer and associated addresses enabled an attacker to obtain 3,973,277,600.69 Flare tokens and convert assets through swaps (to BUSD and an intermediate “Future” token), resulting in roughly $18.5M stolen from ~15,246 holders; the report traces minting, transfers through an unverified contract, exploiter addresses, swap transactions, and subsequent laundering to Tornado Cash and concludes the token was likely designed as a rug pull.
