The Rug Pull Report

This CertiK study analyzes the lifecycle of 40 hard rug pulls in Web3, identifying attacker profiles (project team, rogue developer, project owner), typical timelines (mean ~92–93 days, median ~57 days), and recurring red flags such as anonymous teams, privacy-focused domain registrars, weak or missing whitepapers/roadmaps, and fraudulent marketing tactics; it includes two case interviews and recommends stronger KYC, background checks, and third-party audits to reduce scam risk.
