RABET-V: A New Approach to Testing Election Technology

This document introduces CIS’s RABET-V, a national, risk-based program to verify the security and reliability of non-voting election technologies (e.g., ePollbooks, election night reporting, voter registration systems). It combines organizational, architecture, and product misuse assessments to provide a holistic view, enabling incremental improvements, scaled reverification based on change risk, reduced time and cost, and support for tailored deployments. Following multiple pilots, RABET-V is now live to help election offices make informed procurement decisions and improve trust in election administration.
