CIS Benchmarks November 2023 Update

CIS announced October releases and updates to numerous Benchmarks, spanning AlmaLinux/RHEL/Rocky/Oracle Linux 8 (with major PAM/authselect and OpenSSH guidance updates), AKS (supporting Kubernetes 1.25–1.27), FortiGate 7.0.x, IBM AIX 7.2 (terminal release) and z/OS V2R5 with RACF, macOS 11–14 (including a new Sonoma 1.0.0), Microsoft 365 and Intune for Windows 10/11, Windows Server (including final updates for 2012/2012 R2 and a STIG-aligned 2016 release), MongoDB 5/6, Oracle MySQL (Enterprise and new Community 8.0), Cisco IOS XR 7.x, Snowflake Foundations, and a new VMware ESXi 8.0 Benchmark. Highlights include dozens to hundreds of recommendation changes, improved automated assessment coverage (AAC), new sections tailored to platform features (e.g., ESXi 8 hardware/VM/Tools), and updated OS/app version support, with calls for community feedback and contributions.
