Security Stagflation

The blog argues we are in a period of “security stagflation”: AI has collapsed the cost of discovering vulnerabilities (flooding CVE counts) while remediation, validation, and deployment remain limited by human and organizational capacity. This mismatch debases the CVE signal, creates a growing unenriched backlog, enables exploitation often before patches exist, surfaces combinatorial attack chains and AI-native failure modes, and requires defenders to shift from raw patch throughput to rapid applicability decisions, evidence-based non-applicability, exposure management, and attack-path prioritization.
