Two more banks notifying thousands of victims about Marquis Software ransomware attack

Marquis Software suffered a ransomware intrusion around August 14 that exploited a SonicWall firewall vulnerability, compromising its systems and exposing sensitive customer data for hundreds of downstream banks and credit unions; estimates of affected individuals range from ~788,000 to 1.35 million, with stolen data including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth and financial account information, and at least some victims reporting the vendor paid a ransom.
