Citizen Lab’s analysis and court records show Jordanian authorities used Cellebrite forensic software between late 2023 and mid-2025 to extract data from activists’ iOS and Android phones, discovering device-level indicators of compromise and exploit-like extraction activity; the report documents at least seven cases (four forensically analyzed) and notes a wider pattern of abuse by state actors in multiple countries.
