Romania’s oil pipeline operator confirms cyberattack as hackers claim data theft

Conpet, Romania’s national oil pipeline operator, reported a cyberattack that disrupted parts of its IT infrastructure and took its website offline while maintaining that operational technology (including SCADA) and oil transport were unaffected. The Qilin ransomware group posted Conpet on its leak site claiming nearly 1 TB of stolen data and published alleged internal documents; Conpet has not confirmed a breach, has filed a criminal complaint, and is working with national cybersecurity authorities to investigate and restore systems.
