UK regulator to require tech firms to tackle deepfakes, non-consensual intimate images

Ofcom will require tech platforms to do more to detect and remove non-consensual intimate images and AI-generated deepfakes, recommending expanded use of hash-matching and supporting new UK laws that ban nudification tools and mandate two-day takedowns; the move aims to better protect women and girls after widespread dissemination of nudified images.
