Lab provider for Planned Parenthood discloses breach affecting 1.6 million people

A Laboratory Services Cooperative (LSC) data breach affecting roughly 1.6 million people was disclosed; attackers accessed and removed files containing medical information (dates of service, diagnoses, lab results, treatment details) and sensitive PII (Social Security numbers, insurance and payment information). LSC discovered the incident on October 27, completed an investigation in February, reported no public postings of the stolen data as of April 10, and is offering one year of credit monitoring to affected individuals.
