House moves ahead with defense bill that includes AI, cyber provisions

The U.S. House passed an $848B NDAA with cybersecurity and AI measures, including NSA briefings on the Cybersecurity Coordination Center, creation of AI software bills of materials, authorization for up to 12 generative AI efforts, an amendment to allow NSA threat intelligence sharing with the private telecom sector, and a study of the National Guard’s cyber incident response role; proposals to renew CISA’s 2015 information sharing act and the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program were excluded as the Senate advances its own NDAA.
