Romanian national sentenced to more than 4 years for hacking Oregon government systems

Catalin Dragomir, a 46-year-old Romanian hacker known as "inthematrixl", was sentenced to 56 months in prison after admitting to aggravated identity theft and hacking into Oregon’s Office of Emergency Management and at least ten U.S. companies; he sold administrative credentials on the dark web and exfiltrated employee PII (including Social Security numbers), resulting in at least $250,000 in documented losses.
