Patients left in the dark months after cybercriminals leak testing lab data

Recorded Future reports that the Qilin ransomware attack on London-based pathology provider Synnovis last June severely disrupted NHS diagnostic services and blood supplies, and led to publication of sensitive patient records—including pathology and histology forms describing cancer and STIs. Analysis by data-breach specialists suggests nearly 900,000 individuals may be impacted, and Synnovis has not yet provided detailed notifications to affected patients while its eDiscovery process continues.
