Roblox to verify ages of all gamers who use chat and text features

Roblox plans to expand facial age estimation, ID verification, and parental consent to all chat and text users by year-end to more accurately determine user ages and prevent minors and adults from communicating unless they are known to each other, following research that showed young children could message adults and after reporting over 24,000 suspected child sexual exploitation cases to NCMEC in 2024; this builds on its July rollout of facial age checks for users 13+.
