Several major Japanese companies disclosed recent cyber incidents: Aflac Japan reported a portal compromise exposing personal data for about 4.38 million policyholders (with ~230,000 payment accounts affected); Sapporo Holdings detected suspected unauthorized access at two overseas subsidiaries and shut down affected systems; Nidec's Taiwanese subsidiary suffered a ransomware incident claimed by the BlackField group, alleging theft of more than 2 TB of corporate data and a $2 million demand; and KDDI reported unauthorized access to an email system for five ISPs via a third-party software vulnerability. Companies have contained systems where possible, notified authorities, and are investigating, with no confirmed linkage among the incidents.
