US posts $10 million reward for accused Chinese ‘Hafnium’ hacker

U.S. authorities allege Zhang Yu, director at Shanghai Firetech, acted on behalf of Chinese intelligence in the HAFNIUM campaign that breached thousands of systems and stole documents including COVID-19 research; Zhang is wanted with a $10 million reward while co-accused Xu Zewei was arrested and extradited following a nine-count indictment alleging MSS/SSSB-directed intrusions between February 2020 and June 2021.
