Casio says recent cyberattack 'caused system failure'

Casio reported an October 5 network intrusion that caused system outages and is under investigation by internal and external teams; the company says roughly 127,000 customer “items” were exposed (91,921 in Japan, 35,049 abroad) including names, emails, order and service usage details and payment methods, while credit card data was not included. It follows a prior 2023 breach of the ClassPad.net education application, and Casio has restricted external access and notified authorities as the investigation continues.
