France investigates 15-year-old over alleged hack of national ID agency

A teenage suspect allegedly breached the French National Agency for Secure Documents (ANTS), which handles passports, ID cards, residence permits and driver’s licenses, and attempted to sell an advertised cache of 12–18 million records on cybercriminal forums; authorities confirmed unusual activity, said the circulating data appears authentic, and opened an investigation into unauthorized access and data extraction with potential exposure of login credentials, names, birth dates, addresses, phone numbers and other personal details.
