Finland issues wanted notice for hacker behind massive psychotherapy data breach

Finnish authorities have issued a wanted notice after the Supreme Court declined to hear the appeal of Aleksanteri Kivimäki, who was convicted for the 2018 Vastaamo hack and subsequent extortion; his nearly seven-year prison sentence is now final. The breach exposed highly sensitive therapy records for about 33,000 patients and resulted in extortion demands to more than 24,000 people, making it one of Finland's largest and most damaging cybercrime cases.
