Armenia probes alleged sale of 8 million government records on hacker forum

Hackers are advertising about 8 million Armenian government-related notification records for sale on an underground forum, claiming access to a government notification system; the seller “dk0m” is a known broker who reportedly uses infostealer malware to acquire credentials and has a history of selling government data. Armenia’s PRIC denies an email infrastructure breach and suggests the files may come from the electronic civil litigation platform; an internal investigation is underway. If authentic, the dataset could enable highly convincing social-engineering scams and other targeted attacks against citizens and officials.
