DARPA announces $4 million winner of AI code review competition at DEF CON

DARPA’s AI Cyber Challenge (AIxCC) named Team Atlanta the winner for building AI-driven systems that automatically find and patch synthetic software vulnerabilities, with Trail of Bits and Theori placing second and third. The competition demonstrated significant improvements in autonomous vulnerability discovery and patching, with 54 unique synthetic flaws found and 43 patched, and plans to open-source several systems for defenders.
