Nearly 500,000 impacted by 2023 cyberattack on Long Beach, California

The City of Long Beach disclosed a November 2023 network security incident that exposed sensitive information for approximately 470,060 individuals—including Social Security numbers, financial account and card data, biometric and medical records, driver’s license numbers, passports, and tax data—and completed a 15-month forensic and manual review, issued multi-state breach notifications, and is offering identity protection services to affected residents.
