University of Sydney reports data breach affecting over 20,000 staff, affiliates

The University of Sydney disclosed a breach of an internal code repository that exposed historical personal information — including names, dates of birth, phone numbers, home addresses and job details — for approximately 20,500 current and former staff and about 5,000 students and alumni (plus a few supporters). The university secured the affected platform, notified authorities, is conducting an internal investigation, and reports no current evidence of misuse or publication of the data.
