US extradites member of Russian hacktivist group involved in critical infrastructure attacks

A Ukrainian national, Victoria Eduardovna Dubranova, was extradited to the U.S. and indicted for allegedly participating in Russian state-backed hacktivist groups CyberArmyofRussia_Reborn (CARR) and NoName057(16). The indictments allege the groups conducted hundreds of DDoS attacks, intrusions supporting Russian geopolitical interests, and tampered with public water systems—actions prosecutors say risk public safety; trials are scheduled with potential prison terms up to 27 years.
