Russian state hackers likely behind wiper malware attack on Poland’s power grid

ESET researchers attribute a late-December attempted cyberattack on Poland’s energy infrastructure to the Russia-linked Sandworm APT using a data-wiping malware called DynoWiper; the attack targeted communications between renewable energy sites and distribution operators and was reportedly stopped before causing power outages that could have affected up to half a million people.
