Dutch intelligence (AIVD and MIVD) warns that at least one Russian intelligence service has been systematically compromising internet-connected security cameras in the Netherlands, other NATO/EU states and Ukraine to collect militarily relevant intelligence. The attackers scan for exposed cameras, exploit weak/default credentials and outdated firmware, and use automated image-recognition to identify military vehicles, logistics routes, and personnel; compromised feeds have in some cases supported attempts to kill soldiers and target equipment.
