Spyware found on phone of European Parliament member probing it

Citizen Lab analysis found that Stelios Kouloglou, a former member of the European Parliament investigating commercial spyware, had his phone infected by Pegasus spyware in October 2022 and again in March 2023. Researchers link the same Pegasus customer to related infections of Russian and Belarusian journalists and opposition figures, suggesting a targeted, likely state-enabled surveillance campaign that poses a significant threat to parliamentary oversight and democratic processes.
