Arizona woman pleads guilty to running laptop farm for N. Korean IT workers, faces 9-year sentence

A U.S. citizen pleaded guilty for enabling a wide-ranging North Korean scheme that placed hundreds of DPRK IT workers at more than 300 U.S. companies by using stolen U.S. identities and a laptop farm to make remote work appear domestic; the operation earned and laundered at least $17.1M, is linked to the DPRK Munitions Industry Department, and authorities report these workers have exfiltrated data and extorted victim companies.
