Four arrested in latest ‘PowerOFF’ DDoS-for-hire takedown

International law enforcement executed a coordinated operation to dismantle DDoS-for-hire platforms, seizing more than 50 domains, arresting suspects, and identifying tens of thousands of users and millions of geolocated accounts; U.S. actions included court-authorized seizures of prominent sites such as Vac Stresser and Mythical Stress. The services advertised large-scale attack capabilities (claims of 142 million attacks, plans offering hundreds of attack hours and dozens of simultaneous targets) and were used against a wide range of victims including schools, government agencies, gaming platforms and critical infrastructure, as part of ongoing efforts like Operation PowerOFF to disrupt the DDoS ecosystem.
