‘Styx Stealer’ malware developer accidentally exposes personal info to researchers in ‘critical opsec error’

Check Point researchers exposed Styx Stealer—a new infostealer that captures browser data, Telegram/Discord sessions and cryptocurrency—after the developer accidentally leaked personal and operational data while debugging, enabling attribution to a Turkish actor (Sty1x) and linkage to an Agent Tesla operator (FucosReal) in Nigeria; the malware was observed being used against Check Point customers and the OPSEC failure yielded significant intelligence.
