Man who hacked Hawaii state registry to forge his own death certificate sentenced to 81 months

A Kentucky man, Jesse Kipf, used stolen medical certifier credentials to access multiple state death registries (including Hawaii's) and corporate networks, submitted a falsified death certificate to evade over $116,000 in child support, and sold access and stolen credentials on darknet forums to international buyers; his actions prompted breach notifications, involvement from Mandiant and law enforcement, and resulted in conviction for computer fraud and aggravated identity theft and an 81-month prison sentence.
