A ransomware attack in August by the Rhysida gang hit the Port of Seattle, severely disrupting airport systems (Wi‑Fi, baggage, check‑in kiosks, passenger displays, website and apps) and forcing manual workarounds; attackers exfiltrated personal data for about 90,000 people (names, DOBs, SSNs, driver’s licenses, IDs and some medical information). The Port posted breach notices, is offering one year of credit monitoring to victims, and declined to pay the ransom.
