Two decades of visitor data at the Toronto Zoo stolen in cyberattack

The Toronto Zoo experienced a ransomware attack claimed by the Akira group that resulted in the theft of roughly 133 GB of data, including transaction records (names, addresses, phone numbers, emails), partial card data for transactions between January 2022 and April 2023, and decades of conservation research; the data was reportedly leaked on the dark web and the organization warned affected parties to watch for phishing and fraud.
