French hacker from ‘ShinyHunters’ group sentenced to three years in US prison

A member of the ShinyHunters hacking group, Sebastien Raoult (aka “Sezyo Kaizen”), was extradited to the U.S., pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, and was sentenced to three years in federal prison; prosecutors say Raoult and co-conspirators used phishing and spoofed login sites to hack more than 60 companies, stole hundreds of millions of customer records, posted data to dark web forums, and caused roughly $6 million in losses.
