Treasury Department announces crypto industry cyber threat sharing initiative

The U.S. Treasury announced it will provide timely, actionable cybersecurity threat intelligence to eligible U.S. digital asset firms after repeated large-scale cryptocurrency thefts—including a reported $280M theft linked to alleged North Korean actors and billions lost over recent years—to help firms better identify, prevent, and respond to attacks amid government warnings, prosecutions, and concern over reduced funding for other threat-sharing programs.
