Police raid malware network tied to Russia's Evil Corp hacker group

Authorities from the Netherlands, Canada, the United States and Germany disrupted the SocGholish/FakeUpdates botnet linked to Evil Corp by seizing domain names, taking down over 100 servers, and disinfecting nearly 15,000 compromised websites (including WordPress sites), preventing further use of the malware for deploying additional tools and as an entry vector for multiple ransomware groups.
