Brazil suspended its mobile emergency-alert platform after at least a dozen unauthorized notifications — ten confirmed (nine via cell broadcast, one via SMS) — were remotely triggered across multiple states, including São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro; the alerts contained inappropriate content and activated loud alarms. Authorities blocked external access to the dissemination interface, report no structural damage so far, and the Federal Police are investigating while a more secure version of the system is accelerated.
