UK sanctions Russian cyber spies accused of facilitating murders

The UK sanctioned 18 GRU officers and three GRU units (including Units 26165, 29155 and 74455) for cyber reconnaissance, influence operations and deployment of the AUTHENTIC ANTICS malware—an advanced persistent-access tool used to hijack Microsoft cloud accounts and support targeting in Ukraine—while allied bodies and the NCSC publicly attributed the activity and highlighted real-world consequences and prior indictments.
