Canadian man gets 33 years for using social media to coerce US children into sending sexual content

A Toronto man, Ramanan Pathmanathan, was sentenced in the U.S. to 33 years in prison for operating fake Instagram and Facebook Messenger accounts to coerce over 145 children across the United States into sending sexually explicit images and videos; he recorded and stored the material and threatened victims when they tried to stop communicating. He must register as a sex offender, serve 10 years of supervised release, and is already serving a related 12-year sentence in Canada.
