Largest telecom in Africa warns of cyber incident exposing customer data

MTN Group disclosed a cyberattack in which an unknown third party claimed access to systems and that personal information of some customers across certain markets was exposed. The company said core network, billing, and financial services remain secure, has informed law enforcement, and is notifying affected customers, but provided no details on the number of victims, data types stolen, or an attribution.
