ADT says customer data stolen in cyber intrusion

ADT confirmed a cyber intrusion that resulted in theft of customer and prospective-customer PII (names, contact details, DOB, last four SSN digits, tax IDs). The ShinyHunters criminal group claimed responsibility and threatened to publish up to 10 million records; ADT reports no payment or alarm-system compromise, has notified impacted individuals, engaged third-party investigators, and informed law enforcement.
