Anchorage police department takes servers offline after cyberattack on service provider

Anchorage Police Department responded to a cybersecurity incident at third-party vendor Whitebox Technologies by shutting down relevant APD servers, revoking vendor and third-party access, and overseeing deletion of APD data from the provider’s servers. APD states there is no evidence its systems were compromised or that data was exfiltrated; the department continues monitoring and oversight as the vendor investigates.
