European Commission downplays ShinyHunters cyberattack impact

The European Commission detected and contained a cyberattack affecting parts of the Europa.eu public web portal; the ShinyHunters group claims to have stolen over 350 GB of data including databases, emails and internal documents. The Commission says affected domains were limited to public cloud-hosted websites, that its internal infrastructure was not compromised, and that authorities and cybersecurity experts are investigating.
