California fines Disney $2.75 million for data privacy violations

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced a $2.75 million settlement (pending court approval) with Disney over alleged CCPA violations that made it difficult for consumers to opt out of data sharing and selling across devices and services; Disney must implement a comprehensive privacy program and submit 60-day progress reports until all services comply, while denying liability. This action follows a separate $10 million FTC child privacy penalty in September.
