Water utilities group partners with DEF CON offshoot for Water Watch Center

A national effort led by the National Rural Water Association and DEF CON Franklin launched the Water Watch Center to provide threat intelligence, managed detection and response, and vulnerability information-sharing to underfunded U.S. water and wastewater utilities after a wave of cyberattacks impacting systems across multiple states—attacks that have been allegedly linked to Iranian hackers; five cybersecurity providers will partner to scale support and coordinate defensive work.
