New Threat Report Warns of AI is Automating High-Velocity Attacker Operations

Cloudflare’s 2026 Threat Report warns that AI has become a core enabler of cyber attacks, driving eight major trends: AI-assisted reconnaissance and exploit development, token theft and infostealers bypassing authentication, phishing-as-a-service, deepfake-enabled insider infiltration, living-off-the-land command-and-control through trusted cloud services, nation-state campaigns targeting critical infrastructure, and record-scale DDoS attacks; it recommends enforcing email authentication (DMARC/DKIM/SPF), applying Zero Trust across SaaS, auditing third-party API privileges, and deploying real-time automated defenses.
